Professional Experience

I spent more than two decades on Wall Street, including Managing Director roles at Deutsche Bank and Citi. My work centered on liquidity, funding, collateral, and capital management. These interconnected disciplines enable a bank to meet its obligations and withstand unexpected losses. I previously held Series 7, Series 63, and Series 24 registrations, which qualified me to conduct and supervise securities and investment banking activities.

Over time, this professional work grew into a broader interest in money and markets: both their mechanics and the philosophical ideas that underlie them.

Today, I work part time with Liquidity Digital Assets to develop a platform that helps banks use tokenization to manage traditionally illiquid credit assets and make more efficient use of regulatory capital.

I also apply my financial background to managing my own investment portfolio.

Writing

I am completing Love and Equity, a novel in the final stages of editing. I am also drafting The Science of Money, a nonfiction exploration of the nature of money.

Computational Explorations

I am an enthusiastic member of the Wolfram Community and enjoy using computation to explore complex systems and ideas. At the 2024 Wolfram Summer Research Institute in Boston, I built an agent-based economic model in Wolfram Mathematica. The project was selected as a Wolfram Community Staff Pick, and I was recognized as a Featured Contributor.

I designed and taught an interdisciplinary STEM course built around a thought experiment: Suppose civilization collapsed: no factories, no internet, no semiconductor industry. What would you need to understand to reinvent a computer from scratch? Answering that question naturally led students through mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science, and philosophy.

Education

I hold an MS in Technology Management from Columbia University and a BS in Information Systems Management, magna cum laude, from New York University, where I received the Founders Day Award.
